Hail to the Chief!

Comrades,

Another blog item on our dear Chief, Evelyn Shaw, having spent a great time this morning having a chat with her.

I was trying to get her to calculate the number of meals she had turned out in the kitchen at Walton Street but she more or less told me to feck off.

And what a phenomenal memory she has. She remembered clearly, for example, the time she stood behind Joe Batty, as he bemoaned her cooking. Despite trying to give Batty a warning he carried on only to receive the sharp end of the Chief's tongue as a rebuke to his miserabilism.

The picture above was taken in 2008 when Evelyn on a STAR award in the category of support staff. There is more info here: http://www.fenews.co.uk/featured-article/lsis-announces-star-awards-2008-winners

The awards are classed as the 'oscars for the further education sector' and of course an award to Evelyn for her sterling efforts at Ruskin was well deserved.

The Chief does know about the reunion but I am not too sure she will join us at Burford so I suggest that, if she is at Walton Street on Sat 17th May, a number of people should make the effort to go and say hello - as she remembers our year group well, and it would be a wonderulf gesture on our part.

In Solidarity

Ian
