The more things change......

Comrades,

It is that time of year again, when hordes of fresh-faced, high-spirited, hopeful students commence their learning journeys at Ruskin.

Truly it is a strange time to be an ex-Ruskin student now working at the College and gazing upon the influx.

Gone largely are the warty, rum-soaked trade union bums of yore (pictured left) and in their stead troops in an army of lacklustre, youngsters.

There are still some oldsters amongst the new cohorts but in this day and age the average new starter isn't a trade union or political activist and generally won't get involved in the students union and as for house committees, they went soon after we left.

Apart from the buildings at Walton Street, and a few old faces (Evelyn) our year group won't recognise Ruskin form their time there.

Which is why you must take the opportunity to visit Walton Street when you come to the reunion as this will be your lasy chance before Ruskin vacates Walton Street in order for its new owners, Exeter College, and we are sited on the Headington site.

Let me know if you want me to help sort this.

In Solidarity

Ian
