I had the great pleasure of chatting, by phone, with Roy Moore last week. I am glad to report that he will be joining us for our festivities. If anyone is worrying because they still owe him an essay, don't fret: I am sure that we can get him to declare an amnesty.
As to Ian's post below (great picture!); well do I remember those Finns! I remember, before Ruskin, having a talk with a Swedish bloke, Thomas, in Bangor. I'd never met a Finn then, and Thomas was explaining to me what single-minded dedication to drinking these folk have. He illustrated this by telling me a joke popular in Sweden:
Two Finns are sitting, facing each other across a table, drinking vodka. In silence, they polish off four bottles between them. Opening the fifth bottle, one of the Finns raises his glass and says "Prosit!". His mate frowns at him & replies "are we drinking or talking?".
We should have fielded Denis to represent Ruskin in a drinking competition with their best tippler. It's a bit like "fantasy football" or hypothetical "Frankenstein's Monster versus The Mummy"; who'd win can only be a matter for conjecture.
Anyway - thanks, Finns, for making us Ruskin students look like models of temperance!
A quick appeal now: this reunion will depend on getting the word around as many as possible, so spread the word to people whose details you have.
Among the many old comrades I'd dearly love to track down are; Phil Jackson, Fizzy, Helen, Terry Haughney, to name but a few.
Also Big Bill the Scot & Uday Naik from Leicester, who - to my mind at least - were the only two social work trainees who really interacted with the rest of us (and in whom you could imagine having confidence) . Their fellow A.S.S. students - well, you wouldn't want to trust them to look after a hamster for the weekend, never mind be responsible for the welfare of vulnerable people (see fig. 1 below).

Educate, Agitate, Organise!
